The Scottish Christian Party believes the country needs a
distinctly Christian
Voice in the Scottish Parliament and, by God’s grace,
it is possible to do so.

How long must we live in fear?
The next time a politician knocks on your door ask him or her “How long must we live in fear?”
We now live in fear of terrorist attack, crime on our streets, diseases in our hospitals, global warming; we are even made to live in fear of speaking out (just in case we offend someone).
Indeed, the current political norm is the ‘politics of fear’. The Scottish Christian Party is different. We believe in the ‘politics of faith’.
Our faith is in the Gospel of the kingdom of our Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ, and our politics is based on that faith. The Gospel, the Bible tells us, is by its nature offensive to those who do not believe it. The reason is simple:
The word ‘gospel’ means ‘good news’. You can only have ‘good news’ in relation to ‘bad news’. Therefore the good news of the gospel can only be appreciated as it sheds light on bad news. What is the bad news?
The bad news is that mankind is sinful. Many things that man thinks are normal and natural are in fact sinful. You have no doubt heard it said, “That’s human nature!” or “That’s only natural.” to justify some sort of wrong behaviour.
We are ALL sinners. Yes, you are included. Furthermore, there is a price to pay for sin. That price is death - separation from God. The good news is that on Calvary’s Cross God Himself paid the death penalty. Jesus Christ, the God-man, through His crucifixion received the wages of sin (which is death) that was due to us all, and so He has secured the authority to forgive sin.
Jesus Himself was not due any wage for sin because He was sinless i.e. Jesus never ever committed a single sin in His entire life. Amazing but true. Jesus’ life in the first century AD was God’s provision of an example of what true humanity, untarnished by sin, looks like.
Jesus’ life was not, however, a super-human life. It was the life of a man “full of grace and truth.” His divine incarnation enabled Him, as truly man, to live without sin in a right relationship with God.
If we believe this truth we benefit from it. We as sinners thereby have, by faith, a ‘right relationship’ with God through Jesus’ unique ‘right relationship’ with God.
Do you find what you have just read hard to believe? Yes it is; until God gives you the faith you need as has happened to millions of Christians!
Having read this portion of our election address, at least you now know the Gospel that we in the Scottish Christian Party believe.
It is the prayer of the Scottish Christian Party that by God’s grace you come to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the revelation of God’s love.
God’s love is perfect and “perfect love drives out fear” - including the ‘politics of fear’.
“God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

• Christian Constitution of
Scotland: The Scottish Christian Party
highlights the irresponsible failure of the SNP to say what
will happen to the Christian Constitution of Scotland if the
Treaty of Union 1707 is broken.
The Scottish public deserves
to know this before an Election in which the pundits
think the SNP may form the next administration; but the SNP has
not addressed the question publicly far less provided any
answers.
• Education: To give real choice we
will campaign for an Educational Voucher Scheme, sex education

with Bible reading, and no obligation to promote other

Creationism and Intelligent Design will be

• Economic Development: Less
reliance on fossil fuels, with increased emphasis on

• Housing: Affordable housing earmarked as Local Family Housing.
• Gambling: Opposition to super casinos.
• Elected Police & Fire chiefs: The role of the Police and Fire Service does not involve marching in uniform, or handing out leaflets, at Gay parades. We believe they should be maintaining law and order impartially, and fighting fires. Electing chiefs will ensure accountability.
• Freedom of conscience, of speech and of public preaching: We will address the imbalance in law concerning giving and taking offence, and the oppressive emphasis in diversity training.
• Drugs: Zero tolerance on illegal drugs.
